Cadillac’s two newest production models, the ATS sport sedan and the XTS large luxury sedan each won awards this week from the Texas Auto Writers Association.
ATS, winner of more than 20 awards since its launch last fall, was
voted 2013 Performance Sedan of the Year by a panel of writers and
testers. The XTS luxury sedan won the Full Size Luxury Car category.
The awards concluded the annual TAWA Texas Auto Roundup, which tests
the latest vehicle entries across a range of segments. This year’s test
took place April 28 and 29 at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth,
Texas.
"The ATS challenges the world’s best performance sedans, and the
larger XTS redefines the luxury sedan via advanced technology” said
Melody Lee, director of brand and reputation strategy. “The Texas Auto
Writers Association is an influential group in a key market for
Cadillac, making these awards all the more significant.”
The list of accolades is growing for the ATS, which has been named North American Car of the Year, Esquire Car of the Year, Autobytel Luxury Car of the Year and Motor Press Guild Vehicle of the Year, among others.
All new for 2013, ATS is offered in rear- and all-wheel drive
versions, with a choice of powerful and efficient four- and six-cylinder
engines. The car has steadily driven new customers to the brand since
its launch, with nearly eight in 10 ATS customers trading in something
other than a Cadillac in March.
Also new for 2013, the XTS is Cadillac’s most advanced production car
launched to date. It features Magnetic Ride Control and Cadillac’s new
Driver Awareness and Driver Assist technologies.
Cadillac has been a leading luxury auto brand since 1902. Today
Cadillac is growing globally, driven by an expanding product portfolio
featuring dramatic design and technology.
