2014 Cadillac XTS offers optional twin turbo V-6 engine

General Motors Co. said Monday that its 2014 Cadillac XTS large sedan will be available with an optional twin turbo, 3.6-liter V-6 engine that will churn out 410 horsepower and 369 foot-pounds of torque.

The 2014 Cadillac XTS Vsport model is only available in the luxury car’s premium and platinum trim models. The XTS Vsport model also features 20-inch wheels and a special grille.

GM said production of the new twin-turbo V-6 engine — GM’s first — begins in August.

“The addition of the new Cadillac twin turbo expands and elevates the XTS luxury sedan,” Bob Ferguson, vice president of global Cadillac, said in a statement. “This is a compelling enhancement to what is already one of the most technically advanced sedans in our history.”

The twin turbo V-6 engine also is available on Cadillac’s all-new 2014 CTS Vsport model. The new CTS vehicles will be available this fall.

Drowsy Driving

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration conservatively estimates that 100,000 police-reported crashes are the direct result of driver fatigue each year. This results in an estimated 1,550 deaths, 71,000 injuries, and $12.5 billion in monetary losses.

Stay safe by knowing and understanding the symptoms before you or your driver falls asleep!

Warning signs for drowsy drivers:

  1. Eyes closing or not focusing by themselves
  2. Difficulty in keeping your head up
  3. Yawning constantly
  4. Not remembering driving the last few minutes
  5. Drifting between lanes, tailgating, or missing traffic signs
  6. Jerking the car back into the lane after drifting
